Rose Paralympic tune-up gives him confidence

March 4 - Britain's Sean Rose has won a silver in the final skiing competition ahead of the Winter Paralympics, which begin in Vancouver next week.

Rose, competing in Aspen in the second downhill race of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) Cup, managed a time of 1min 14.11sec to finish second.

Rose finished nearly two seconds behind the United States Joe Tomkins, who had the advantage of competing on home snow

It followed the downhill gold medal by the 39-year-old from Cambridgeshire at Sestriere two months ago.

The World Cup ends on Friday and Rose has chances for further success in the super-G and super combined events.

After that, he will compete in all five Paralympic ski events - he downhill, the super G, the super combined, the giant slalom, and the slalom.
