Greg Norman gives Australian team for Paralympics lift

March 7 - Australia’s ski team for the Paralympics, which open in Vancouver on Friday (March 12), have received a boost after they were visited by golfer Greg Norman, one of the country's most successful and best-known sportsmen.

Norman, known as the Great White Shark, visited the Australian team during their training camp in Vail, Colorado, ahead of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) World Cup finals in Aspen, Colorado.

Norman spent more than half-an-hour with the team, who took the opportunity to have their photos taken and talk with the golfer who spent an incredible 331 weeks ranked as the world’s number one.

Norman offered his best wishes to the team, and said he will right behind them when they ski for gold at the Games in Vancouver and Whistler.

Steve Graham, the head coach of Australia's team, said Norman offered his insights into what it takes to compete and succeed at the top level.

Graham said: "Greg was absolutely fantastic.

"He was really relaxed and supportive of the guys, and it was a real buzz for everyone to have him there."
